I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends, (old ones and new ones), for all your support and encouragement.
I was inspired to write this story mostly out of my growing concern for my own kids and the direction their lives were heading in and the choices they were making.
My daughter, Diana Nicole Lee, has always been the 'head' side of me. Strong-willed. Persistent. Won't take no for an answer.
My son, Robert Daniel Lee, has been the 'heart' side of me. Meek, humble, and sensitive, yet, strong-willed and willfull. Incidentally, he designed the 'head/heart' logo on the cover of the book.
For you both, I pray to God to guide and protect you in the choices you make.
To my mother, Mrs. Etta Mae Adams, Fort Valley / Augusta, GA, who has always admonished me about the choices I was making, I'd like to say thank you for everything you've ever done for me. Love is too weak a word to describe how I'm feeling right now. Your little girl is all grown up now and making good choices.
To my big brother, Judge Adams, Macon, GA, who has always been my protector, I love you, Brer. Your kid sister has finally found her wings.
To my nephew, Kaiser Tyrone Yates, Slidell, LA, who, by the way, is an 'Edward' in his own right, I say thank you. I love you, Kiddo.
To my two oldest sisters, Rossetta Yates, Fort Valley, GA, and Catherine Taylor, Augusta, GA, two of the world's greatest educators, who read the book in less than two days, I thank you both for all your support.
To my dear friend, co-worker, couselor and advisor, Mary Higgs, Augusta, GA, thank you for your vote of confidence. God bless you.
And to my buddy and spiritual friend, Clarence Andrews, Augusta, GA, who worked many, many hours with me building this website, I thank you, partner. It's finally done. Check out his website on my links page.
A special hello to my sisters of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
I say to you all, ‘Dare to dream for dreams do sometimes come true.’
Remember that 'The choices we made yesterday gave us the cup we drink from today. The choices we make today will navigate our footsteps on tomorrow's path.' Always make good choices.
Much love to you all.
